A Thousand Miles

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing. It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.”

 Hello! Welcome to my blog!

I was raised on sunshine and ocean water in Florida & Aruba and have always had a heart for the nations. I first encountered Jesus in 2010 on a mission trip to Jamaica and clumsily attempted to follow him for five years before fully surrendering my life to him during a missionary training school in Mozambique in 2015, where I encountered the reality of relationship with God rather than mere religion. I studied to become a nurse. Worked in coffee for a bit. I like all things that have to do with people, travel, being active, photography, writing, and Jesus. Learning to be fully present wherever He leads me & always living a life of missions – state-side and abroad. Learning to lean in as God establishes my steps – the unfolding of our stories are eclipsed with his glory – always.

I have seen that my relationship with God is not contingent on one decision to follow him. To walk with him is to walk in continued surrender to his plans and purposes, every day. The thing is, it’s not really about nursing. Or coffee. Or missions. The point is and will always be him- that we would find ourselves so in love with Him that we just want to be where he is- even if it costs us everything.

I pray that my life story isn’t summed up in one grand moment of obedience or faith, but that instead, I would live a lifetime of “yes’s,” wholly given to God, and that these would make up the story of his continued faithfulness to me as I choose to walk with him. The outlet in which his glory is expressed may come in different shapes and sizes, but as we follow him, it will always be beautiful.

I pray my life story is one of a thousand miles – the culmination of all of the single steps I take each day with Him, fully given in surrender to his plans. I pray you see with your own eyes how worthy he is of our surrender and that you may have courage to give him your everything.

Feel free to explore my page as I discover the unfolding glories of God along this journey we call life.

xoxo,
