You Are

Here
In the stillness of morning
When only the colors of sunrise speak
You are

Here, not out there
Come the still, small voice
Speaking tenderly
You are

Searching, to and fro,
Your strong hand settles
On a heart that yearns
To hear, to see, to behold,
You are

Not on the mountain, or land too far
Though you will meet us if it’s where we are
In corners unexpected - bare - You whisper,
”I am.”
You are.

In cracked crevices
Silent nights, silent cries
The slow, the aching, searching for purpose
A calling, a voice,
”I AM.”
You are.

Drawing, alluring, deep cries to deep
A world unseen; Heaven in You
Heaven in me
You are.

Father’s arms fold around, enwrapping us
In light we longed for
Truth in eyes of knowing
You are.

Heart beating, a rhythmic note
In sync with Creator
A melody to confirm, “I’m home.”
Then Love’s gentle response,
”You are.”
